Buti Yoga is a soulful yet calorie-scorching workout that fuses power yoga with cardio-intensive tribal dance, plyometrics, body sculpting primal movement, conditioning and deep abdominal toning. It tones and sculpts the entire body while also facilitating inner transformation. Buti Yoga utilizes the Spiral Structure Technique to stabilize and strengthen the deeper abdominal muscles. Instead of linear movements, the practice favors movements that challenge the body along all planes of motion resulting in long, lean muscle with sexy feminine curves.
In Marathi, the language spoken in parts of western India, buti means "a cure that has been hidden or kept secret.” In each Buti Class, the movement clears away stuck energy and revitalizes the body to help individuals shift their perception of the world around them. For Kayla, it has helped reveal an energy in herself she didn’t realize she had kept buried. Every day she is beyond grateful for what Buti Yoga has done for her not just physically, but mentally. It has helped her grow, transform, and allowed her to be the front seat driver of her life. She is excited to help others reach their optimal potential and change their lives.
Elin Hersch took her first yoga class in 1999, and continued her practice to help balance out the effects of dancing and the stresses of “real life”. Then, when leading unofficial lunch-break yoga sessions with her coworkers, Elin decided to expand this favorite time of the day into a way of life! Elin received her certification from the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago, studying spiritually under the late Sri Goswami Kriyananda and learning Hatha yoga from Swami Sarasvatyananda. She has studied extensively in many different traditions and enjoys teaching everything from hot vinyasa to restorative, hatha to meditation. In her classes, Elin seeks to pass along the peace and joy she finds in yoga and to healthfully guide each student to their own place of centered self-awareness.
Lauren fell in love with yoga at the age of 13 and hasn’t looked back for almost 2 decades. Relying on yoga as a constant source of release and finding her way back to center, she realized that she was able to pass this on to others and completed her 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification through Yoga Alliance with Jill Abraham in 2014. A lover of life, adventure, and travel, Lauren takes her yoga off the mat to inspire and heal others and encourages her students to do the same in every class. Lauren enjoys laughing with her students, challenging them to tune into their inner strength, and reminding them to do all things with love. Lauren was born and raised on Cape Cod and has taught around the Cape and South Shore. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and International Studies from Western New England University.
Marlene completed her 200-hour teacher training with Jill Abraham at Power Yoga of Cape Cod in 2016. An athlete her entire life, including running track & field at UConn, Marlene has always appreciated the many benefits of yoga. Marlene injured her back doing a Crossfit workout in 2013 and turned to yoga to help heal.
Yoga aided in the physical healing process but also led to a connection with her mental, spiritual, and emotional growth through the consistent yoga practice. Marlene hopes to inspire everybody to connect with their breath, live in the moment, and have fun!
